A Spiritual Picnic at the Aravalli Hills by Bhakti Vriksha Devotees

“Our process is simple, all‑embracing. We have something to offer for everyone. There is chanting, dancing, feasting, and very perfect philosophy, so everyone will be satisfied with our Krishna Consciousness Movement.”Śrīla Prabhupāda (Letter, October 4, 1973)

Inspired by this timeless vision of Śrīla Prabhupāda, the devotees of Gopal Krishna Bhakti Vriksha, led by HG Aradhya Gaur Prabhu, organized a spiritually uplifting picnic amidst the serene forests of the Aravalli Hills. The gathering beautifully combined devotion, simplicity, association, and joy—true to the essence of Krishna consciousness.

Devotion in Nature

Surrounded by the calm and natural beauty of the Aravalli landscape, devotees came together to experience spiritual life beyond temple walls. The forest setting reminded everyone of the sacred forests of Vraja, where Lord Krishna performed His divine pastimes with His devotees. Being in nature deepened the sense of gratitude, humility, and connection with the Supreme Lord.

Simple Living, Joyful Service

As part of the picnic, devotees lovingly cooked and relished special Litti–Chokha, prepared collectively in the spirit of service and cooperation. The simple prasādam, cooked in the open forest, became a medium of bonding and joyful remembrance of Krishna, reflecting the principle of simple living and high thinking.

Adding to the joy of the day, some devotees also played badminton, sharing light-hearted moments of recreation and camaraderie. These simple activities further strengthened relationships and demonstrated how Krishna consciousness naturally harmonizes spirituality with healthy recreation. At the end of the picnic, all devotees were served sumptuous and delicious prasādam in the form of Litti–Chokha, lovingly prepared and shared together, bringing the gathering to a joyful and satisfying conclusion.

Melodious Kīrtan and Krishna Kathā

The gathering was further enlivened by a melodious kīrtan led by HG Rambhadra Prabhuji, Temple President of ISKCON Gurugram. The air of the forest resonated with the holy names, and devotees joyfully danced, forgetting all worldly concerns. The kīrtan created an atmosphere of pure devotion, reminding everyone that chanting the holy name is the heart of spiritual life. During the gathering, HG Rambhadra Prabhuji also shared beautiful pastimes of Lord Krishna, especially those enacted in the forests of Vraja. These narrations helped devotees deeply connect the natural surroundings of the Aravalli Hills with Krishna’s transcendental līlās, enriching both heart and intellect.

Devotees were also fortunate to receive signed copies of the book titled “Vandanam” from HG Rambhadra Prabhuji, which became a cherished spiritual keepsake and a source of inspiration for deepening their devotional practices.

Heartfelt Realizations and Transformations

One of the most touching moments of the picnic was when Bhakti Vriksha group members shared their personal realizations. Devotees spoke openly about their journey in ISKCON – how they were feeling spiritually, how association had supported them, and how Krishna consciousness had brought positive transformation in their lives, relationships, and outlook.

These heartfelt reflections highlighted the true strength of the Bhakti Vriksha system: loving association, shared growth, and mutual encouragement on the path of devotion.

A Living Expression of DYPH Values

This spiritual picnic was not just an outing; it was a living expression of the values promoted by DYPH (Discover Your Permanent Happiness)—community, devotion, joyful practice, and practical spirituality. Chanting, dancing, feasting, philosophical reflection, and loving association came together seamlessly, just as Śrīla Prabhupāda envisioned.

As devotees returned from the Aravalli Hills, they carried with them not just memories, but renewed enthusiasm, deeper bonds, and a stronger commitment to Krishna consciousness.

Conclusion

This spiritual picnic beautifully highlighted that Krishna consciousness is not a monotonous process. Rather, it is deeply practical, joyful, and full of bliss, seamlessly integrating devotion, philosophy, service, association, and even recreation. When centered on Krishna, every activity—chanting, cooking, playing, listening, or sharing—becomes spiritually meaningful.

Such gatherings remind us that devotion is not confined to a place—it blossoms wherever sincere hearts come together to remember and serve Krishna.
